Foodie Friday: Freschetta Artisan Pizza Crust

As much as I'd like, to I can't cook every night. My work demands keep me pretty late at the office and I'm not able to prepare a meal after work most nights. It's a challenge trying to find the balance of when I can make a home-cooked meal and when I can't. But the bigger challenge has been staying away from burrito joints, pizza and Chinese-delivery and the easy, but unhealthy solutions that always come to mind when I'm driving home after the sun's set.

I went to the grocery store earlier this week with the resolution to buy enough ingredients to create some simple after-work meals. Meals that are fast, inexpensive and not woefully unhealthy. I marched up and down the isles grabbing things here and there until I came upon a sight I'd never seen before, pizza crust in the bread isle. I'm used to seeing crusts in the refrigerated section but there were prepared crusts in large bags. All you have to do is add the toppings and heat. Maybe I've been living under a rock, but this is new to me. And given that my husband is a pizza FANATIC, I grabbed two of the Freschetta Artisan Pizza Crusts and I was on my way.

Last night we decided to have a homemade pizza night. I have to say the crusts were incredible and with prep and cook time, making the pizzas took less time then calling up a pizza place for delivery. I'm completely sold on this inexpensive weeknight solution, and I know that pleases my husband, the pizza lover! I'm excited about experimenting with different toppings and sauces to make original pizza options.

Do you have a favorite pizza topping or original pizza creations? I'd love to hear about them.

The thoughts and opinions in this blog post are completely my own. I was not sponsored or paid for this post, I just love the product so much I wanted to share!

Thanks for reading.

  1. You have definitely been living under a rock! I haven't see that brand - but when I'm making pizza and don't have time make my own crust, I'll grab either Boboli (they have a wheat crust option) or just a package of Naan (usually in bakery sections) to make flatbreads.

I like Buffalo or BBQ chicken...but am also quite partial to my shaved asparagus pizza!

    Gotta love easy AND delicious!
