What I'm Reading

I love to read. I try to do it a little bit every night right before I go to bed. I find that it really helps me settle down after a long day at work.

After moving to Atlanta I started reading a LOT more. It might be because I was no longer planning a wedding or maybe because I had less of an after-work social life, either way I feel like I'm breezing through books laterly. The surprising thing is I'm actually a pretty slow reader and I typically only read 10-15 pages at one time.

I actually started a book club since moving and so far we've read 3 different books:
  • Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese
  • Still Alice by Lisa Genova
  • Savages by Don Winslow
I just finished reading Savages and I'm so excited because Oliver Stone made the book into a movie; and not just any movie, this movie has a killer cast: John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Blake Lively (I love her), Benicio Del Toro and Salma Hayek. Here's the movie trailer:

I'm hoping the book club is up for a little movie trip once it's released. Typically I think books are better then their movie counterparts but in this case I truly think this book was written to become a movie. There are even bits that are written like a script.

I think recently there's been several great movies derived from books, most notably "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo." What is your favorite movie that originated from a book?

Are you reading anything good? New book suggestions are always appreciated.

Thanks for reading.
