Hello, my name is Devon Brown. I'm a campus pastor at the HBCUs in Atlanta with Chi Alpha Campus Ministries. I'm currently in graduate school studying mental health and counseling. I'm a husband, friend, son, and soon-to-be father. I'm passionate about God and love sharing what He's been teaching me lately through music, movies, people, reading the bible, and everyday life. As you read my blogs, I hope you will begin to see my thoughts, my everyday thoughts, and I hope you will begin to see how I navigate them back to God.

The average person has about 80,00 thoughts a day. Each day, I have thoughts, sometimes good and sometimes bad. I've learned to write my thoughts down and give them to God. When done so, I've received peace, joy, and an overall sense of a better thought process than before. As I share, feel free to share your thoughts and come alongside me on this journey of what our thoughts mean, and let's see what God has to say back to our thoughts through the bible. A verse I've discovered helps me process my thoughts to God is 2 Corinthians 10:5 "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ". I've seen how consuming my thoughts can be when I don't take my thoughts captive and make them obedient to God. When not taken captive, I've seen my thoughts have led to depression, anxiety, and even suicidal thoughts. Our thoughts are powerful, and if we let them consume us, they can turn into actions, eventually leading to regret if thoughts are negative. As you read my blogs, first, you read my thoughts, and then as you read further, you will see my thought process of how I made these thoughts obedient to God and how He wants us to think. As my thoughts come, I will begin to see what God is teaching me through these thoughts. Come with me on this journey as I wrestle with everyday thoughts that are good, bad, and ugly but eventually taken captive and made obedient to God. My relationship with God is my top relationship, and I want to submit to His will even when it hurts or is contrary to what I think or feel.
