Social Sunday: Good Eattin'

Sunday Social

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I read this question out loud to my husband and he wants me to say "anything that my husband cooks on the grill." While that's almost true (and he is amazing on a grill), I think the one thing I could eat for the rest of my life is either homemade mac n' cheese or basil pesto hummus.
What's your guilty pleasure/comfort food?
I'm a huge ice cream fan. I could eat it every night but I know my waistline wouldn't appreciate it.
What's the weirdest/craziest thing you've ever eaten?
In spite of trying shark, alligator, and rattle snack. The weirdest thing I've ever eaten is probably the raw head of a lobster, unshelled but with eyes and antenna. I'm not a very picky eater and I like to think I'll try almost anything once. I said that to a friend in college while we were at a sushi restuarant and volia, there appeared the lobster head.
What foods do you avoid at all costs?
Like I mentioned, I will try almost anything and I'm really not a picky-eater. I actually believe that I can condition myself to like different foods. I know it's strange but I believe that if I try something enough, I'll learn to like it. This has held true with plenty of foods in the past; cole slaw, tomatoes, and sushi, to name a few.

But, it hasn't seemed to work for olives. I HATE olives! I want to like them, I just don't :(
What meal reminds you of your childhood?
Recently I was craving comfort food. I was chatting with my mom telling her I was craving the white rice she used to make me when I was young. She used to take white rice and put a little cinnamon and sugar on top. Then she would top it off with some milk. My sister and I would have it for dessert and I absolutely love it. My husband thinks it's a little weird but its one of those things that will forever remind me of home, my mom and my youth.
Share one of your favorite recipes and the story behind it.
I just shared a simple recipe above. Try it before you knock it.
